Tour The Lincoln Park Farmers Market — 7/18/26 Live Event
TOUR THE LINCOLN PARK FARMERS MARKET
WITH NATURALLY CHICAGO AND LOCAL FOOD FORUM
LINCOLN PARK HIGH SCHOOL
2100 N. ORCHARD AT ARMITAGE
SATURDAY, JULY 18
9 A.M.
When The Lincoln Park Farmers Market first opened in 1981, it was one of the very few farmers markets in the Chicago region. It was a favorite of chefs in the vanguard of the farm-to-table movement.
It faced challenges as the farmers market sector boomed, adding competition for vendors and customers. But under the determined leadership of Manager Elsa Jacobson, the market has re-invented itself over the past several years as a quintessential neighborhood market, and again has a lineup of dozens of popular vendors.
That's why Naturally Chicago is partnering with Local Food Forum on a tour that will salute The Lincoln Park Farmers Market's 45th anniversary. This fun event will take place on Saturday, July 18, beginning at 9 a.m.
A limited number of tickets, priced at just $25, are available for purchase.
The tour will be led by Elsa and Bob Benenson, who doubles as Local Food Forum publisher and Naturally Chicago communication consultant. We will meet several leading vendors and hear their takes on the importance of the market and locally produced food.
The Lincoln Park Farmers Market is located on a path next to Lincoln Park High School — which leads to Oz Park, a tribute to L. Frank Baum, the Chicago author of the Wizard of Oz books. We can segue over after the tour and visit the statues of Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion.
