Star (Farm) Power: Revisit Our Tour and Social, Their Upcoming Soiree
The Naturally Chicago team and our guests had a fun evening out on August 27, when we toured one of the urban farms run by the Star Farm Chicago non-profit and then segued to the patio of their Star Farm Fresh Market for a RoseBud Ice Cream Social.
We love what founder/CEO Stephanie Dunn and her team are doing to provide jobs, hope, opportunity and access to healthy hyperlocal food in the underserved Back of the Yards community on Chicago’s South Side. So we are happy to promote their spectacular Under the Stars Soiree at the Market on Saturday, September 12.
First, though, a recap of our August 27 event…
Star Farm Chicago its celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. For Stephanie Dunn, the milestone is less about longevity and more about evolution — how a modest community garden project became a multifaceted engine for local resilience.

There were brief presentations by Stephanie and by Naturally Chicago Founder/CEO Jim Slama.
We then traveled about a mile away to the year-old Star Farm Market, located at the corner of 53rd St. and Ashland Ave. Inside the store we found several of our favorite Naturally Chicago brands.
